These past few weeks, the school had been buzzing with excitement as students had been eagerly waiting and preparing for the termly spelling bee competition. The competition gave some very good spellers from grades 5 to 8 a chance to compete for the title of PIS Spelling Bee Champion.
The competition began with a written test, where students had to spell a variety of words correctly, a few days before the oral competition. The spellers that qualified had an oral competition on Thursday, 17th February 2023.
It was a great opportunity for the students to show their spelling prowess and compete against their classmates. The competition was fierce and the students were determined to win. Each student was given a list of challenging words to spell out. At the end of the fourth round, only 4 spellers remained of the 25 spellers that qualified for the competition and, they progressed to the final round. It was a nail-biting finish, but in the end, it was 8th grader, Yoofi Truman Ansah, who emerged as the school’s Spelling Bee Champion for this term.
The champion and other competitors were awarded for their participation and hard work. The entire event was a great success, and everyone had a great time.
